A second man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Nicholas Sutin.

Police were called at 4.05am on Friday to reports of a fight on Ballards Lane in Finchley.

Officers found 55-year-old Sutin with a serious neck injury at the scene. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was later pronounced dead.

Now a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday evening.

He remains in police custody.

Sutin’s cause of death was a result of head injuries and a stab wound to the neck, a post-mortem examination carried out at Northwick Park Hospital Mortuary found.

A 40-year-old man was earlier arrested on suspicion of murder.

He has since been bailed to a date in late June.

Detective Linda Bradley, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said:"Our investigation into Nicholas’ death is continuing at pace and officers are working around the clock to establish exactly what happened.

"My team continue to work in the area to identify anyone who may have seen or heard anything which will assist the investigation. Officers have already spoken to several witnesses but I would encourage anyone else with information to contact us immediately."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101 , providing the reference 879/27MAY.

Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
