Niall Horan to open up on his famous friendship with Lewis Capaldi in new documentary

Superstars Niall Horan and Lewis Capaldi will lift the lid on their famous friendship and how they deal with being spotted by fans.

The pair are set to feature in a new Virgin Media documentary Niall Horan’s Homecoming: The Road to Mullingar with Lewis Capaldi, which airs this Sunday at 10pm. But before the show airs, the 29-year-old opened up about how he met the Scottish hitmaker.

Niall told FM104: “We met in Glasgow in a pub. Ireland were playing England in the final game of the Six Nations and I was playing the next day in Glasgow.

“I asked Lewis if he wanted to come and play a few tunes before I went on before I was playing.” Lewis added: “I always think that’s mental that we did that. I would never do that now at all, but I guess that’s how it happens.”

The duo also opened up about who gets spotted the most – with Lewis believing that “things go a bit mental” when fans spot both him and the Slow Hands singer out and about together. Lewis said: “When I’m on my own, I think I can get away with it… but when you put Niall in the equation… and I think actually the two of us being together is a big thing.

“When you put Niall in the equation for me, things seem to go a bit more mental than they would be if I was just ripping about,” he told Crossy and Enya Martin on FM104. The documentary will see the pals make the journey from Dublin to Mullingar with lots of adventures along the way.

They made a stop at the Guinness Storehouse to enjoy a few pints before busking on Dublin’s Grafton Street. The documentary, Niall Horan’s Homecoming: The Road to Mullingar with Lewis Capaldi, will air this Sunday (October 16) at 10pm on Virgin Media One.
