Niall Horan has been announced to join music talent show The Voice US as a coach.
The American television network NBC revealed that the Irish singer-songwriter will take a seat on the judging panel for the new season in the spring.
Commenting on his new job, the former One Direction star said: "I'm excited to be joining this season of The Voice as a coach. I'm looking forward to meeting and mentoring the new crop of talent while we battle it out with the other teams."

The Mullingar man, who got his own start on music talent show, The X Factor UK in 2010, will be sharing his experience alongside fellow coaches Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Chance the Rapper.
Horan, Clarkson and Chance the Rapper are taking over from John Legend, Gwen Stefani - Shelton's wife - and Camila Cabello in the famous red chairs.
It has also been confirmed that the new season will be country star Shelton's last on the show after a 12-year run.
Shelton has served as a coach for all of its 22 seasons. Season 22 is currently airing on NBC, and Season 23, which airs in the spring of 2023, will be his last.
“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from ‘The Voice’ after season 23,” Shelton said in a statement.
“This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”
Shelton thanked the viewers and the team for all of their support over the years whilst also giving a shoutout to longtime hosts Carson Daly and Gwen Stefani, his wife whom he met on the show when they were both coaches in 2014.
