Lucknow: An NIA court in Lucknow on Thursday held 28 individuals guilty in the murder case of Chandan Gupta.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, on 26 January 2018, during Republic Day celebrations, a "Tiranga Yatra" (Tricolor Rally) was organised in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. During this event, a clash broke out between two groups, and amidst the chaos, Abhishek Gupta, also known as Chandan Gupta, was shot dead.
The quantum of punishment will be pronounced on Friday.

Family seeks capital punishment
After the court convicted 28 people, Chandan's father said, “We expected the judiciary to give us justice. Now, we want the culprits to be hanged.”

Violence engulfed Kasganj
Chandan was 20 years old. He was a B.Com final year student and the youngest son of the family. After this incident, violence erupted in Kasganj. Many vehicles and shops were set on fire. Curfew was imposed in Kasganj for several days.
