NI weather forecast as week of high temperatures expected

Around a week of high temperatures are expected across Northern Ireland.

According to the Met Office, there will be highs from 20C to 23C in Belfast from Sunday, August 7 to Wednesday, August 10.

But for this week and for Thursday's forecast, August 4, it's set to be mainly dry with variable amounts of cloud and some bright or sunny intervals.

The forecaster added: "Chance of a brief shower, more especially in the north and west. Maximum temperature 18C.

"[Thursday night will be] sunny then clear spells and showers continuing through the evening and overnight, mainly in the north and west. Quite a chilly night where clear spells develop with winds mainly light. Minimum temperature 8C."

Friday, August 5, is set to be another bright day with sunny spells and a few isolated showers, easing later on in the day.

"Moderate north-westerly winds. Maximum temperature 19C," the Met Office said.

It will be cloudy but mostly dry on Saturday, August 6, and dry with some warm sunshine on Sunday and Monday.
