NI teenager Sean McAllister eager to follow Price path after signing new Everton deal

Northern Ireland teenager Sean McAllister is eager to eventually play at the “highest level” with Everton after signing a new deal with the Premier League club.

McAllister, who has impressed since joining the Toffees from Dungannon Swifts in 2019, has featured for Everton U23s and captained the U18s during the 2020/21 season.

And the 19-year-old midfielder is eager to kick on next season and follow in the footsteps of international teammate Isaac Price who made his senior debut last season.

Price featured in an FA Cup win over Boreham Wood in March and was a substitute in a 5-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium in May.

McAllister told the Everton website: “I want to reach the highest level I can with this club. I enjoy coming in every single day and I just love it here.

“One of my best mates is Isaac Price – we’re in the same Northern Ireland youth team – and it’s amazing to see him up with the first team and being part of matchday squads. It shows that the pathway is there.”

On penning a new one year contract on Friday, McAllister said: “Myself and my family are so happy, as I’ve loved being at Everton ever since I joined three years ago.

“Now I just want to kick on and improve all aspects of my game. I want to create more chances and develop my defensive play. I can’t wait for the new season to start and I want to hit the ground running.”

McAllister, who is also a close pal of former Ballymena United goalkeeper Dylan Graham who has also agreed a new deal with Everton, says he feels at home on Merseyside.

He told evertonfc.com: “I loved the place straight away, ever since I first came over on trial. Everybody around the club is just so friendly and my family felt exactly the same.

“The lads in the squad made me feel as if I had been here for years. I fitted in instantly. My granda actually came over recently and he loved every minute of it too.

“Everton is just full of good people. I feel really comfortable here. I live in digs with Dylan Graham, a goalkeeper who is also from Northern Ireland, and Charlie Whitaker. It’s a good group and we got on very well.”

Everton Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, said: “We are very pleased Sean has signed a new contract.

“Sean has a lot of the key elements you require as a midfielder – technical ability, energy, composure and a strong work-ethic - and we are looking forward to helping him continue to progress.”
