Lee Harkin rounded off a whirlwind week of planes, training and pre-season friendlies by making his first ever senior outing for Wolverhampton Wanderers in Portugal.
The talented Northern Ireland teenager spent all of last week with the Premier League club’s U21s on a week-long training camp in the United States.
And no sooner was Lee back in England before he was jetting off to Faro to feature in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with SC Farense at the Estadio de Sao Luis.

Harkin made his senior bow for Wolves as a 76th minute replacement and actually went close to winning it late on when he almost got onto the end of a Harry Birtwistle cross.
Birtwistle, Ollie Tipton and Harkin all featured as substitutes for a young Wolves side against the Portuguese outfit after starring for the club’s U21s in the States.
Farense opened the scoring early doors only for Wolves, who had Conor Coady and Willy Boly in their starting line-up, equalised through a Hee Chan Hwang penalty.
In the States, Harkin, who put pen-to-paper on a new contract in April, was on target with a close range finish in a 2-1 win over Chelsea U21s at Salt Lake City on July 22.
He also started in a 2-0 defeat to the Real Monarchs, a club playing in the MLS Next pro league, and a 2-1 loss to Colorado Rapids on Thursday.
The versatile forward, who joined Wolves from Derry City in 2019, has played for the club’s U18s and U23s over the course of the last three seasons.
He scored seven goals in 19 Premier League 2 games for the U23s last season, six of them coming in the last eight outings of the campaign.
