Two Northern Ireland restaurants have been recognised by The Times as some of the best places to eat by the water in the UK.
The Co Derry spots were the only Northern Irish eateries to feature on their 'UK’s best riverside restaurants and pubs' list for 2023.
Harry's Shack and Lir, both located in Portstewart, were included for their stunning locations and tasty food.

The Times said: "With spring finally in the air, there’s no better time to take advantage of the incredible variety of opportunities in the UK to dine by the water.
"Whether it’s a riverside pub, beachside brasserie or even a converted canal barge, you’ll find something to delight in our selection of the best places in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland."
Here is what they had to say about both spots:
Harry's Shack
Set on the sands of Portstewart Strand, with a large, sheltered terrace, Harry’s Shack serves the freshest seafood caught by local day boats.
The menu of simply prepared dishes may include Carlingford oysters with tabasco and lemon and whole red mullet with crab and caper butter.
Lir Portstewart
Run by the husband-and-wife team Stevie and Rebekah McCarry, Lir is a modern seafood restaurant, deli and fishmonger housed in a glass-and-steel building in Coleraine Marina, overlooking the River Bann.
At lunch there’s a daily changing “Native seafood and scran” blackboard menu based around the day’s sustainable catch.
At night the list of creative dishes includes pan-fried cod served with crispy confit chicken leg and a boulangère potato spiral.
