Northern Ireland's boxers enjoyed a gold rush on a sensational Sunday to break Team NI's all-time record for medals won at a Commonwealth Games.
No fewer than FIVE gold medals and one silver were secured on an historic day in Birmingham, taking the team’s overall tally to 18.
Northern Ireland won 12 medals at the last Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2014, while the previous highest total was 15 medals in Edinburgh in 1986.

Dylan Eagleson, Amy Broadhurst, Aidan Walsh and his sister Michaela Walsh all won gold after Jude Gallagher had been awarded the featherweight title by a walkover.
Belfast light flyweight Carly McNaul had to settle for silver at the National Exhibition Centre as she lost to India's Zareen Nikhat.
Bangor boxer Eagleson, still only 19, won gold when he beat Ghana’s Abraham Mensah in the bantamweight final.
“I was coming here to get gold, so it’s no surprise to me,” said Eagleson, who was competing at his first ever Commonwealth Games. “I wouldn’t have settled for anything less.”
Belfast’s Aidan Walsh, who won silver four years ago, went one better this time with a comprehensive win over Tiago Muxanga of Mozambique in the light middleweight final.
“You want to beat the best and I’m just happy to be here and to perform in this amazing stadium,” said Walsh. “To stand here is incredible.”
Reigning world champion Amy Broadhurst added a further gold medal when she dominated her lightweight bout with England’s Gemma Richardson.
And the medals kept coming when Aidan’s sister Michaela, a silver medallist at the 2014 and 2018 games, beat Elizabeth Oshoba of Nigeria in the featherweight final.
Team NI boxers won eight medals four years ago - six silver and two bronze - but our last gold medals were won by Paddy Barnes and Michael Conlan at the 2014 games in Glasgow.
