NHS Lanarkshire has welcomed four new non-executive directors to its board.
The Health Secretary, Humza Yousaf MSP, announced the appointments of Colin Lee, Nauman Dar, Phillip Couser MBE and Siobhan White.
Martin Hill, chairnan of NHS Lanarkshire, told Lanarkshire Live : “I am delighted to welcome our newest non-executive directors to the board.
“With their wealth of expertise and experience, these appointments will strengthen our board as we strive to transform how we deliver health and care services while focusing on key priorities such as tackling inequalities, sustainability and staff wellbeing.
“They will also help deliver our plans to build the new University Hospital Monklands, Scotland’s first digital hospital.”
Colin Lee has been the chief executive of CEMVO Scotland since 2003 and brings a wealth of experience and expertise in integrating race equality within organisational development processes.
He has worked within the Third Sector for more than 25 years in areas including mental health, welfare and debt advice, housing and employment, which has provided him with wide knowledge and experience in various fields and in managing organisations and projects.
Nauman Dar is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde with over 20 years of experience in delivering large scale business transformations.
He is described as "a dynamic and results-orientated leader with a track record of leading global teams in order to deliver business outcomes and specialising in digital transformation delivery within agile and fast-paced environments".
Phillip Couser MBE has worked at senior levels in the NHS in Scotland since 2013.
He was appointed as the director of Data Driven Innovation in Public Health Scotland (PHS) on its formation in 2020 and before retiring from the post in July last year, he led PHS’s initial data and digital contribution to the pandemic response.
Prior to PHS, Phillip was director for public health and intelligence in NHS National Services Scotland, leading both Information Services Division and Health Protection Scotland.
From both these roles he "brings a strong interest in public health and a passion for data driven and digitally enabled transformation".
Siobhan White is an assistant head for learning, teaching and quality and senior lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University, and has teaching interests and expertise in a variety of under-graduate, post-graduate and professional programmes.
She specialises in the subject areas of public sector accounting and internal/external auditing, and public sector financial management, having previous work experience as a government external auditor.
The health board's appointments, which will run until January 31, 2026, are regulated by the Ethical Standards Commissioner.
