An NHS doctor has warned against a dangerous and completely untrue pregnancy test trend making its way through TikTok.
The clips, which are growing in popularity, are among many similar types of videos on the social media platform which contain a multitude of misinformation. In this particular trend of videos a pregnancy test is being wrongly used. In the footage, a user is seen breaking open a test and revealing what appears to be a pill inside it.
A caption accompanying the video reads: "Plan B inside pregnancy test" with a shocked emoji, hinting that there was an emergency contraceptive pill stashed inside the test. However, the idea has been completely debunked by doctors, the Mirror reports.

Dr Karan Rajan, who works for the NHS said the idea of a "plan B pill" inside a test was untrue in his own video. He stated that those taking pregnancy tests or trying to avoid pregnancy should not take the tablets inside under any circumstance.
He added that the so-called pills are not in fact plan B or emergency contraceptive. "No. Do not eat the tablets you find inside a pregnancy test," Dr Rajan said.
"They are a desiccant tablet used to absorb and hold moisture to extend a shelf life of a pregnancy test similar to the little silica packets you find in shoes and bags." In fact, the pills are toxic and not fit for human consumption.
He urged any users who have swallowed the pills to go see a doctor as soon as possible. The doctor's video titled 'don't do this' has garnered almost one million views with plenty of comments and more than 100,000 replies.
One person, who responded said: "I thought that was obvious," while another said it seemed like common sense not to swallow the pills.
Another joked: "These people are the reason why there’s instructions on a pop tart box."
