NHL Star Johnny Gaudreau And Brother Killed By Drunken Driver

NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother tragically lost their lives in a devastating accident in New Jersey. The brothers, Johnny Gaudreau, 31, and Matthew Gaudreau, 29, were riding bicycles on a county road in Oldmans Township when they were struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 43-year-old Sean Higgins.

The accident occurred just hours before the brothers were set to serve as groomsmen at their sister's wedding in Philadelphia. The sports world is mourning the loss of Johnny Gaudreau, known for his passion on the ice and kindness off it.

New Jersey State Police have charged Higgins with two counts of vehicular homicide in the second degree. It was revealed that Higgins was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, having consumed five to six beers before the tragic event.

The accident occurred in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, just before a family wedding.
Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau were struck by a drunk driver while riding bicycles.
Sean Higgins, the driver, was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Higgins appeared in court and is currently being held without bond at the Salem County Correctional Facility. The charges against him carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in New Jersey state prison.

The Gaudreau brothers were described as beloved family members, teammates, and friends. Matthew Gaudreau's wife is expecting their baby, adding to the heartbreaking impact of the loss.
