Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs reached an agreement on Monday over a record-setting restructured contract which will place him back among the league’s top earners.
As part of his new deal, Mahomes will be paid a guaranteed $210.6 million between 2023-‘26, which is the most money across any four-year span in league history. The two sides will reportedly revisit the deal after the ‘26 season, per ESPN.
After signing his restructured deal, just one day after turning 28, Mahomes took to social media with a three-word message in order to express his gratitude.
“Thank you God!” wrote Mahomes on X, alongside a prayer emoji.
