NFL Week 8 DFS value picks: For a low price, D’onta Foreman and Brandin Cooks could bring high rewards

Putting together a winning DFS roster is like hitting on an eight-leg parlay. You’ve got to be almost perfect and can hardly afford to have any misses in your lineup. Given the money you’re allocated, piecing together that roster can be really dang hard.

Here at Bet For The Win, we want to lend a helping hand. We’ll help you find the low-price, high-reward players that’ll help your roster building.

It’s Week 8, and Sunday’s slate of NFL games should be a good one. Packed within the 11 games are some very good players who can be used for cheap in DFS lineups at FanDuel.

Here’s a look at some players with low price tags that may be worth a DFS roster spot.

Quarterbacks

(Daniel Bartel-USA TODAY Sports)

Davis Mills – Houston Texans ($6,500)

Which Davis Mills is going to show up? The one who has two separate games on the season with zero touchdowns and fewer than 200 passing yards? Or the guy who’s gone for 240 or more passing yards and two touchdowns on three different occasions? I think we’ll see the latter against a bad Titans pass defense.

Andy Dalton – New Orleans Saints ($7,100)

I was as surprised as any to see Dalton throw for 361 yards and four TDs last week against the Cardinals. He very likely won’t do that again, but he certainly could have another strong outing so long as Taysom Hill doesn’t come in and steal a touchdown.

Running Backs

(Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports)

D’Onta Foreman – Carolina Panthers ($6,400)

CMC is on the Niners. Chuba Hubbard won’t play on Sunday. It’s D’Onta Foreman’s time to shine.

Michael Carter – New York Jets ($6,600)

The unfortunate season-ending knee injury to Breece Hall has moved Michael Carter into an RB1 on the Jets. Well, I think it did. New York’s acquisition of James Robinson III signals there may be a share of snaps. But head coach Robert Saleh says he’ll roll with the hot hand on Sunday. Are you willing to take on the risk of the unknown?

Brandin Cooks – Houston Texans ($6,100)

In 2020, Brandin absolutely cooked (pun intended) the Titans. He had 20 catches for 234 yards and three TDs over two games. Last year, he had just 7 catches for 44 yards in two matchups. So, this is the year he torches Tennessee again, right? He’s due for a big game, and this Titans’ pass defense is bad.

D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers ($6,200)

Signs of life from Moore and the Panthers’ offense last week against the Buccaneers. Seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown? Something like that should be possible against a Falcons secondary that let the Bengals throw for 481 yards a week ago.

Tight Ends

Kyle Pitts – Atlanta Falcons ($5,600)

It’s hard to trust Kyle Pitts to produce when the starting quarterback throws the ball no more than 14 times. You’re really just gambling on the talent and potential that have stuck with him throughout his young career.

Darren Waller – Las Vegas Raiders ($5,500)

If Darren Waller is back from his hamstring injury, he makes a ton of sense at this price for Sunday’s game against Carolina. Obviously, you’ve got to monitor his injury.

Defenses

Indianapolis Colts ($3,900)

I’ll take my chances with Indy against the Commanders’ offense. You should too.
