Things couldn’t have gone much worse for the Rams in Week 4. They were embarrassed by the 49ers, 24-9, and failed to score a single touchdown. Injuries added salt to the wound, sinking the Rams to 2-2 after four weeks.
They now get the 3-1 Cowboys in Week 5, a game in which they’re favored. That’s largely because of Dak Prescott’s absence, but the Rams have plenty of missing pieces of their own. That doesn’t seem to bother experts, however.
According to NFL Pick Watch, 71% of experts are picking the Rams to win outright over the Cowboys. There isn’t much confidence that Los Angeles will win by at least a touchdown, though. With the 5.5-point spread factored in, only 32% are taking the Rams to cover.
Los Angeles is just 1-3 against the spread this season compared to a 3-1 record for the Cowboys. So it’s not hard to see why experts believe the Rams will win, but only narrowly.
With all four NFC West teams tied at 2-2, the Rams have an opportunity to pull into first if they can beat Dallas and the 49ers fall to the Panthers.
