NFL Week 3 DFS value picks: Dameon Pierce has upside against Chicago’s defense

Putting together a winning DFS roster is like hitting on an eight-leg parlay. You’ve got to be almost perfect and can hardly afford to have any misses in your lineup. Given the money you’re allocated, piecing together that roster can be really dang hard.

Here at Bet For The Win, we want to lend a helping hand. We’ll help you find the low-price, high-reward players that’ll help your roster building.

There are plenty of DFS value plays to make in Week 3. But for your lineups, you’ll need to make sure you target these specific players.

Here are the must-have players across each position.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff – Detroit Lions ($7,100)

For those who haven’t been paying attention, Jared Goff is playing some good football. He’s got 471 passing yards, six touchdowns and just one interception thus far. No reason to expect slowed production in Week 3 against a Vikings defense that’s given up the third-most passing yards per game on the season (275.0).

Running Backs

Dameon Pierce – Houston Texans ($5,800)

Dameon Pierce out-carried Rex Burkhead 15-1 in Week 2 vs. Denver. If the backfield is all his for a consecutive week, he’ll have a chance to do some damage against a Bears defense that is allowing 189.5 rushing yards per game.

Cam Akers – Los Angeles Rams ($5,800)

What are the Rams going to do this week? In the season opener, Darrell Henderson got the majority of the carries, and in Week 2 it was Cam Akers’ backfield. I’m predicting it’ll be more Akers this Sunday, which makes him incredibly enticing at $5,800.

DeVonta Smith – Philadelphia Eagles ($6,000)

The distribution was much better for the Eagles last week. DeVonta Smith went from zero catches in Week 1 to seven in Week 2. His weekly production feels like last week’s than the one prior. He could have a fine day vs. this Washington secondary.

Garrett Wilson – New York Jets ($6,100)

Fourteen targets! That’s how many Wilson got last week against the Cleveland Browns. It led to eight catches, 102 yards and a touchdown. Joe Flacco is going to keep airing it out and Wilson will be a main beneficiary.

Drake London – Atlanta Falcons ($6,200)

Another rookie? They have tremendous value on FanDuel and have been productive early in this season. Take a shot on him him Week 3.

Kyle Pitts – Atlanta Falcons ($5,600)

Riding with Kyle Pitts in Week 3 is purely based on his value and his potential. Nothing more. I’ll take a gamble on him at $5,600.

T.J. Hockenson – Detroit Lions ($5,500)

Were the first two weeks a fluke? Where is T.J. Hockenson in this offense? I think he’ll get more involved this Sunday against Minnesota.

Houston Texans – ($3,800)

Bad news for Houston is that its run defense is bad. But if the Texans can tighten their screws in that area, they could clamp down on a Chicago offense that has only attempted 28 (!) passes all year long.
