Las Vegas Raiders superstar wide receiver Davante Adams is facing a police inquiry after 'shoving a photographer to the ground' following their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last night.
Adams, one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL, left the field in clear anger after his team gave up a 17-0 lead before going on to lose the game to the Chiefs. A photographer crossed his path as he tried to exit the field and the 29-year-old then appeared to shove the man and watch as he stumbled backwards and down to the ground.
The photographer was helped back to his feet, with Adams continuing to walk down the tunnel, but it has now been reported that the former has filed a police report against the Raiders receiver.
According to TMZ Sports, the photographer claimed he was the victim of assault and he was later transported to hospital after the incident.
A statement from police in Kansas City read: "The victim is a photographer at the Chiefs/Raiders game. At the end of the game, he was pushed to the ground causing injury. He made arrangements for private transport to the hospital for treatment at which time he called police.
"The injuries are preliminarily thought to be non-life threatening. The incident will be investigated by our Assault Unit detectives, upon completion they will coordinate with the applicable city or state prosecutor to determine any applicable charges."
The NFL is expected to rule on the matter themselves, with the superstar reportedly facing a suspension.
Adams apologised himself for the incident after the game. He said: "He jumped in front of me coming off the field. I kind of pushed him. He ended up on the ground. I want to apologize to him for that.
"That was just frustration mixed with him really just running in front of me. I shouldn't have responded that way, but that's the way I responded. I want to apologize to him for that."
The Las Vegas Raiders fell to a 1-4 record after last night's loss, with the Chiefs moving to the top of the division with a 4-1 start to the season.
