Minnesotta Vikings star Harrison Smith produced one of the most hilarious celebrations of the season after intercepting a Taylor Heinicke pass.
Smith picked off Heinicke in the fourth quarter and put the Vikings in a good position to score late in the game. After making the catch at the midfield mark, he took off down the left side of the field and got to within 15 yards of the end zone. When he got there, he was mobbed by his ecstatic team-mates, before deciding to do something a bit different.
Smith had his team-mates group up together in the end zone before he bowled the ball at them underhanded. The ball hit the group and they all fell to the ground, mimicking a ten pin bowling strike.
One twitter user described the celebration as "Best celebration I’ve ever seen," while another wrote: "Amazing celebration." But the interception was more significant than just producing a funny celebration, however, as it provided a turning point in the game.
The Vikings went on to score just moments later and tie the scoring, with Kirk Cousins connecting on a 12-yard touchdown pass to Dalvin Cook. Greg Joseph was then given the chance to win the game with just 16 seconds left, and did so in style by scoring a 28-yard field goal.
The interception also marked the first time in his career that Smith has recorded an interception in three games in a row.
He managed to pick off Kyler Murray last week in the Vikings' win over the Arizona Cardinals, and before that he intercepted Teddy Bridgewater in the win over the Miami Dolphins.
Speaking after the game, Smith was asked about the importance of his interception. However, the 33-year-old safety insisted he only wanted to talk about his team-mates.
He told the Vikings media team: "I mean, it starts with the guys up front. A couple of those picks are just me catching the ball. Nothing too spectacular. Good defensive ball all around, good coverage from the guys outside."
The Vikings have been a surprise package this season, and take an impressive 7-1 record into next week's game against the Buffalo Bills.
And Smith seems confident the team can keep their impressive run going, expressing he and his team-mates are just trying to enjoy themselves on the field.
"We just keep trusting the process. Follow the lead of KO [Kevin O'Connell], let the chips fall where they may. We're having fun playing, trying to do things the right way. Hopefully that pays off in the long run."
