NFL refs have very serious jobs and are under a microscope at all times. It’s just a part of their gig.
But not everything has to be totally serious. It is a game after all.
If you need proof of that then check out what happened in Sunday’s Detroit Lions-Dallas Cowboys game at Jerry’s World. Lions running back Jamaal Williams threw the ball back to the ref after a play but the ref was busy announcing a holding call and the ball hit him right in the head.
Did the ref get all upset over it? Nope. He played it off with a slight smile as Williams quickly apologized to him and life went on.

Whoops!
I love how the ref was able to basically laugh it off, knowing it wasn’t done with any ill intent by Williams.
NFL fans had reactions.

I LOL’d when I saw this happen live. Only way it gets more Lions-esque is if it resulted in an ejection. https://t.co/GCA3fhTM48
