The Jacksonville Jaguars bounced back from a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers by flipping the script and getting a 20-point win over the Tennessee Titans.
It was just what the doctor ordered and kept the Jaguars atop the AFC South for at least another week with a massive road game against the Houston Texans next on the docket.
Are the Jaguars the hard-nosed team that navigated an October gauntlet of travel? Or are they a pretender that has shriveled against the toughest opponents on the schedule?
The Week 12 rematch against the Texans will tell a lot. In the meantime, here’s what experts think of the Jaguars after their first 10 games:

Preseason hot seat: OLB Josh Allen
Current temperature of hot seat: FreezingThis season, Allen has 9.5 sacks and is just one shy of his career high — which he set in 2019 when he was a complementary rusher alongside Calais Campbell and Yannick Ngakoue. Allen is third in the league with 54 QB pressures, and his QB pressure percentage (19%) ranks second only to the Cowboys’ Micah Parsons. It’s hard to see the Jaguars not signing him to an extension or using the franchise tag on him.

Jacksonville’s only losses have come to Kansas City, Houston and San Francisco. The Jaguars have won six of their last seven after rolling out to a 27-0 lead Sunday, and it’s not the offense that is powering this run. Trevor Lawrence is 25th in the league in passing EPA per dropback (minus-.06), and the Jaguars are 27th in yards per rush (3.7). Meanwhile, Jacksonville is second in the league in special teams EPA (20.76)

There’s still enough time left this season for Calvin Ridley to have a huge impact. On Sunday, Ridley had two touchdowns, doubling his season total, and his first 100-yard game since Week 5. Trevor Lawrence, not coincidentally, had his highest passer rating of the season. That’s a great sign.

The Titans got a taste of “Steezy Trev,” as the Jaguars offense looked as good as it has all season. That was the kind of offensive performance they needed after last week.

Beating a rudderless Titans team isn’t exactly concrete evidence that the Jaguars are a contender, after all. But if nothing else, it showed the Jaguars are a resilient bunch who always seem to play their best football after getting punched in the mouth.
