When the month of December began, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Kansas City Chiefs were both just a half-game behind the Baltimore Ravens for the top spot in the AFC. In the NFC, the seemingly unstoppable Philadelphia Eagles had a two-game lead over the field.
Plenty has changed during the holiday season, though.
The Ravens and Miami Dolphins have pulled away in the AFC while the Jaguars and Chiefs are floundering. On Christmas, Kansas City lost its fourth game in six weeks and Jacksonville spent Christmas Eve getting stomped by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth consecutive loss.
While the Eagles managed to end their three-game slide with a 33-25 win against the New York Giants on Monday, the team hardly resembles the one that beat the Dolphins, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Bills during a five-game stretch.
The playoffs are right around the corner, but there aren’t many contenders playing their best ball this month. With Week 17 on the way, here’s how all 32 teams currently stack up:
