NFL Power Rankings Week 13: Ravens are top team in AFC; Eagles maintain No. 1 spot

The Ravens are 9-3 and the top team in the AFC heading into the bye week after an impressive 20-10 win over the Chargers (4-7) on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Baltimore gets a much needed bye, while the Chiefs, Jaguars, Dolphins and Steelers are all lurking around in the AFC postseson picture.

With the Eagles maintaining their hold on the top spot, we’re previewing the Week 13 NFL Power Rankings.

Carolina Panthers 1-10

Carolina (1-10) lost its fourth straight, and the first of a three game road trip.

The Panthers now are 0-6 on the road after Bryce Young threw for 194 yards. Still, Tennessee never trailed as running back Derrick Henry finished with 76 yards rushing, giving him 9,074 for his career making him the 38th in NFL history to reach that mark.

New England Patriots 2-9

An interception by Giants safety Xavier McKinney set up Randy Bullock’s go-ahead 42-yard field goal midway through the fourth quarter, helping New York defeat the Patriots 10-7 on Sunday.

New England has lost four straight, and turnovers deemed the franchise again, as the Giants picked off Patriots starter Mac Jones twice in the first half and McKinney got his turnover in the fourth quarter against Bailey Zappe, who relieved Jones to start the second half.

The Giants’ defense limited Jones and Zappe to 143 yards passing on 35 attempts, and 4 of 14 on third down.

Arizona Cardinals 2-9

Jonathan Gannon’s team dropped another NFC West game, and they’re not playing as hard as they were a few weeks ago.

The Cardinals (2-10) actually led 8-7 after backup quarterback Clayton Tune was inserted in on a QB sneak for a 2-point conversion.

It was the only lead for Arizona, which has lost eight of its past nine. Kyler Murray completed 27 of 45 passes for 256 yards and a touchdown in his third game since returning from an ACL tear in his right knee.

Arizona is 1-2 in games Murray has started, beating the Falcons but losing to the Texans and Rams.

Chicago Bears 3-8

Chicago is 3-8 and 4th in the NFC North, but Monday night presents another opportunity for Justin Fields to showcase his talents to potential suitors, while playing spoiler to a Vikings squad currently 6th in the NFC playoff field.

Washington fired key members of the defensive coaching staff after an embarrassing 45-10 loss to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day.

The Commanders (4-8) lost for the eighth time in 10 games since a 2-0 start and dropped to 2-9 as the most common Thanksgiving opponent for their NFC East rivals.

Sam Howell threw for 300 yards and had a rushing touchdown, but he was hounded all afternoon an three a pick-six to Cowboys’ cornerback DaRon Bland that made NFL history.

New York Giants 4-8

The Giants (4-8) are one of the worst teams in the NFL, but they got a win over a Patriots team that’s been awful and even worse.

Including the six forced in Week 11, the Giants have forced nine turnovers during their two game winning streak.

Undrafted rookie quarter Tommy DeVito finished 17 of 25 for 191 yards and didn’t throw an interception for the second straight week. Rookie receiver Jalin Hyatt had five catches for a career-high 109 yards.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers 4-7

Baker Mayfield was 20 of 30 with 199 yards, two TDs, one interception and a game-sealing fumble as the Buccaneers suffered a 27-20 loss to the Colts in Indianapolis on Sunday. Mike Evans had six catches for 70 yards and Rachaad White ran 15 times for 100 yards.

Tennessee Titans 4-7

Derrick Henry ran for 2 touchdowns as the Titans held off Bryce Young, and the Panthers, 17-10.

Henry ran for two touchdowns and 76 yards, helping the Titans snap a three-game skid by turning back the clock.

Henry became the eighth running back in NFL history to run for at least 9,000 yards and at least 80 touchdowns before turning 30. Henry also moved past Corey Dillon and Jim Taylor for sole possession of 17th all time with his 84th rushing TD of his career. He is one from tying Marshawn Lynch at No. 16.

The Patriots are the only team worse than Robert Saleh’s squad in the AFC, after Jevon Holland returned an intercepted first-half Hail Mary attempt 99 yards for a score, Raheem Mostert ran for two touchdowns, and the Dolphins cruised past the New York Jets 34-13 in the NFL’s first game played on Black Friday.

Los Angeles Chargers 4-7

The Ravens’ defense was dominant, holding the Chargers to 279 yards of offense on 69 plays. Justin Herbert and company went 7-15 on third downs and 1-2 in the red zone.

Herbert was gritty on Sunday night, going 29-44 passing, for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interceptions. Herbert also had 4 rushes for 47 yards, logging more rushing yards than Lamar Jackson.

The momentum from the Josh McDaniel’s firing is starting to quickly fade, as Las Vegas blew a 14 point first half as the Chiefs pulled away, 31-17.

Josh Jacobs rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (5-7), ending a 12-game streak in which the Chiefs did not allow a 100-yard rusher.

New Orleans is no longer atop the AFC South after a 24-15 loss to the hated Falcons on Sunday.

The Saints (5-6) battled despite being limited by injury problems at wide receiver after losing Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (thigh) days after Michael Thomas was placed on injured reserve.

New Orleans outgained Atlanta 444-396 as Derek Carr passed for 304 yards, but the Saints settled for five field goals by Blake Grupe, and no touchdowns.

In a game where Carson Wentz saw backup snaps, Matthew Stafford threw for a season-high 4 touchdowns as the Rams rolled to a 37-14 win over the Cardinals.

Green Bay and Detroit started a wild day of Thanksgiving Day football, as Jordan Love tied a career high with 3 TD passes — leading the Packers to 29-22 win over NFC North-leading Lions.

Cincinnati (5-6) converted a field goal from Evan McPherson just before the two-minute warning, but eventually ran out of time in a 16-10 loss to Pittsburgh..

Bengals backup Jake Browning threw a touchdown pass in his first start and finished 19 for 26 for 227 yards and threw an interception in the red zone.

The Falcons (5-6) ran for 228 yards, Bijan Robinson ran for 91 yards with a touchdown, and Atlanta jumped into first place in the NFC South with a 24-15 win over the Saints.

Josh Allen threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 81 yards and two scores for the Bills, who are in danger of missing the playoffs after winning the AFC East the past three years.

The Seahawks are facing a two-game deficit in the NFC West as Geno Smith was 18 of 27 for 180 yards passing, but was sacked six times, threw an interception in the first half, and nearly had a few more throws picked off as Seattle fell, 31-13 to San Francisco.

The Vikings (6-5) are set for a Monday night matchup against the Bears, and will look to stay in the sixth playoff in the NFC with Justin Jefferson set to return.

Jonathan Taylor ran for two scores, Gardner Minshew added another on the ground and the Indianapolis Colts defense came up with a late turnover Sunday to preserve a crucial 27-20 victory over Tampa Bay that keeps Shane Steichen’s team in the AFC playoff hunt.

Trevor Lawrence threw for 364 yards, and the Texans missed a late field goal as the Jaguars weere able to hold on for a 24-21 win.

C.J. Stroud thew for 304 yards and two touchdowns as Houston’s three-game winning streak was snapped. He has 3,266 yards passing this season to move past Justin Herbert (3,224) for most in NFL history by a rookie in his first 11 games.

Stroud also became the first rookie in NFL history to throw for 300 yards in four consecutive games.

If the season ended today, Cleveland would be in the playoffs, but for how long after a 29-12 loss to the Denver Broncos.

The Browns were already without quarterback Deshaun Watson and cornerback Denzel Ward, and saw star defensive star Myles Garrett leave Empower Field with a sling on his left shoulder and has an MRI scheduled for Monday. Rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was knocked from his first road start with a head injury. Amari Cooper (rib) and Jordan Elliott (ankle) also were unable to finish the game.

Denver stretched their win streak to five games with the first ever, 29-12 NFL score in a win over Cleveland.

The Broncos (6-5) have recovered from their 1-5 start to jump back into the AFC playoff race with their first five-game winning streak since they started out 7-0 in 2015, when they last reached the playoffs.

Russell Wilson was 13 for 22 for 134 yards, a TD and no interceptions, while also rushing for a touchdown.

Pittsburgh Steelers 7-4

Kenny Pickett threw for a season-high 278 yards and the Steelers held on to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 16-10 on Sunday.

In their first game since Matt Canada’s dismissal — the Steelers (7-4) totaled 421 yards, snapping a streak of 58 games without gaining 400 yards.

Pittsburgh is now 2nd in the AFC North, and the 5th overall seed in the AFC.

The Jaguars (8-3) avenged their 37-17 home loss to Houston (6-5) in Week 3 and created some separation at the top of the AFC South. They also improved to 6-0 away from home, including two wins in London.

The Lions (8-3) went for it five times on fourth down and only converted once on the final touchdown dri, while being unable to overcome three Jared Goff turnovers in a 29-23 loss to the Packers on Thanksgiving Day.

Goff finished 29 of 44 for 332 yards with two touchdowns, including one on a 7-yard pass to Sam LaPorta on the Lions’ first drive.

DaRon Bland set an NFL record with his fifth interception return for a touchdown this season, and the Cowboys extended their home winning streak to 13 games by pulling away for a 45-10 victory over the Washington Commanders on Thursday.

Patrick Mahomes threw 2 touchdown passes, as the Chiefs rallied from 14 down to beat Raiders 31-17 on Sunday.

Christian McCaffrey rushed for 114 yards and two scores in the first half, and the 49ers built a 21-point lead by halftime while rolling to a 31-13 victory over the Seahawks on Thursday night.

San Francisco (8-3) won their fourth straight against their division rivals and have a two-game lead in the NFC West over Seattle. The 49ers won their third in a row overall following a three-game losing streak and they’ll head to Philadelphia in Week 13 for an NFC Championship rematch.

The Ravens are 9-3 and back atop the AFC after a hard-fought, 20-10 win over the Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday night.

Quarterback Lamar Jackson was 18-32 passing, for 177 yards and one passing touchdown, while Jackson also had 11 carries for 39 yards. Explosive rookie running back Keaton Mitchell led the group with 64 yards on nine carries, while Zay Flowers had two touchdowns and 62 total yards on the night.

The Ravens’ defense was dominant, holding the Chargers to 279 yards of offense on 69 plays. Justin Herbert and company went 7-15 on third downs and 1-2 in the red zone.

The Eagles are resilient and never fold, and that attitude was on display again as the defending NFC champs overcame another 17-7 deficit to take down the Buffalo Bills 37-34 in overtime.

Looking to keep himself firmly in the NFL MVP race, Jalen Hurts overcame two early turnovers to toss three touchdown passes while running for two more as Philadelphia (10-1) will prepare for an NFC Championship game rematch when San Francisco (8-3) comes to Lincoln Financial Field.
