The Los Angeles Rams finished the first quarter of the season 2-2 through four games, which was actually a decent record considering the teams they faced. They took a step back in Week 5, though, losing to the Philadelphia Eagles at home to drop their record to 2-3.
That didn’t stop Touchdown Wire from bumping the Rams up in their latest power rankings. The Rams moved up from No. 16 to 14 this week despite losing to the Eagles, their highest position in Touchdown Wire’s rankings all season.
Buy Rams TicketsI feel like more people are enjoying the Rams now that they are underdogs. It’s like when your mom always scoffed at paying full price for a particular item, but when it went on sale, all of a sudden it was great and she claimed to always love it. The Rams are fun, play hard, and have largely been in every game they’ve played thus far.
Los Angeles started the year buried near the bottom of most power rankings and even though the Rams are just 2-3 through five games, they’ve been competitive and looked better than expected. There’s still a lot of progress to be made in the coming weeks and even with the schedule easing up a little bit, the Rams can’t afford to lose many more games before their Week 10 bye.
If they can go at least 2-2 in the next four games against the Cardinals, Steelers, Cowboys and Packers, they’ll be in decent shape. Going 3-1 is very possible, too, as is 4-0 against four teams that have been up and down all year.
