NFL Playoffs: Kansas City, Philadelphia big favorites in the divisional round

A Wild Card weekend that almost universally lived up to the hype — looking at you, Dallas and Tampa Bay — is in the rearview mirror, and we are that much closer to figuring out who will be competing in the Super Bowl next month. Teams like the 49ers and Cowboys looked dominant in their Wild Card victories, while the Jaguars and Bills squeaked out wins.

As we move on to divisional round matchups, let’s take a look at which teams are favored to move on. We will have two games on each Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and all odds are courtesy of BetMGM.

Jacksonville at Kansas City (Saturday, 4:30 p.m.)

After completing a 27-point comeback against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Jacksonville Jaguars now have to travel to Kansas City Saturday afternoon to face the top-seeded Chiefs. KC and Patrick Mahomes had a bye week to watch all the action. Sportsbooks don’t think Trevor Lawrence and the Jags can repeat the magic as Jacksonville are 8.5 point dogs.

New York at Philadelphia (Saturday, 8:15 p.m.)

In the Saturday evening game, the NFC’s top-seed — the Philadelphia Eagles — play host to a fellow NFC East foe in the New York Giants. Philly’s star quarterback Jalen Hurts has dealt with a shoulder injury late in the season, but he played Week 18 against the Giants (which Philly won). The Eagles are favored to win by a touchdown-ish.

Cincinnati at Buffalo (Sunday, 3:00 p.m.)

Sunday’s action starts with an AFC battle between the Bengals and Bills. These two teams met just two weeks ago, but it was canceled after the terrifying injury to Damar Hamlin. Neither squad seemed particularly crisp during their respective Wild Card matchups, but this should be a highly anticipated game. Buffalo is the early favorite by 4.5 points.

Dallas at San Francisco (Sunday, 6:30 p.m.)

The evening concludes on Sunday with a matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers. Dak Prescott was fantastic in the Wild Card round, and rookie Brock Purdy has been one of the most fun stories down the back half of the season. The Niners are early favorites by a field goal.
