NFL playoff clinching scenarios for Week 17

The Arizona Cardinals are not going to the playoffs. However, the playoff race in the NFC and AFC is hot in the final two weeks of the regular season.

The No. 1 seed is still in play in both conferences. Multiple divisions have not been clinched and the wild cards are still undetermined.

In Week 17, here are the scenarios for playoff berths, division titles and the No. 1 seed.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens can clinch the AFC North division title if the following happens:

  • The Ravens beat or tie the Dolphins
  • The Browns lose to or tie the Jets

They can clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC, a first-round bye and home-field advantage in the playoffs in this scenario:

  • The Ravens beat the Dolphins

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have many paths to a playoff berth, but they need help from multiple teams.

They will clinch a playoff spot if the following happens:

  • They beat the Patriots, the Steelers lose to or tie the Seahawks and the Bengals lose to or tie the Chiefs
  • They beat the Patriots, the Steelers lose to or tie the Seahawks and the Jaguars lose to or tie the Panthers
  • They beat the Patriots, the Steelers lose to or tie the Seahawks, the Texans lose to or tie the Titans and the Colts lose to or tie the Raiders
  • They beat the Patriots, the Bengals lose to or tie the Chiefs and the Jaguars lose to or tie the Panthers
  • They beat the Patriots, the Bengals lose to or tie the Chiefs, the Texans lose to or tie the Titans and the Colts lose to or tie the Raiders
  • They tie the Patriots, the Steelers lose, the Bengals lose and the Jaguars lose
  • They tie the Pats, the Steelers lose, the Bengals lose and the Texans lose or tie their game
  • They tie the Pats, the Steelers lose, Bengals lose and the Colts lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Steelers lose, the Jaguars lose and the Texans lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Steelers lose, the Jaguars lose and the COlts lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Steelers lose, the Texans lose and the Colts lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Bengals lose, the Jags lose and the Texans lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Bengals lose, the Jaguars lose and the Colts lose or tie
  • They tie the Pats, the Bengals lose, the Texans lose and the Colts lose

Cleveland Browns

The Browns can clinch a playoff spot if any of the scenarios play out this week:

  • They beat the Jets
  • The Steelers lose to or tie the Seahawks
  • The Bills lose to the Patriots
  • The Jaguars lose to or tie the Panthers
  • The Texans lose to or tie the Titans and the Colts lose to or tie the Raiders

Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars can clinch a playoff spot and win the AFC South if the following happens this weeken:
  • They beat the Panthers, the Colts lose to the Raiders and the Texans lose to the Titans

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs will clinch and playoff berth and win the AFC West if one of the following happens:

  • The Chiefs beat the Bengals
  • The Raiders lose to or tie the Colts and the Broncos lose to or tie the Chargers

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins will win the AFC East if one of two things happens:

  • The Dolphins beat or tie the Ravens
  • The Bills lose to or tie the Patriots

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams will clinch a playoff spot if one of the following scenarios plays out this week:

  • They beat the Giants and the Seahawks lose to the Steelers
  • The Rams win and the Packers and Vikings tie

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles will win the NFC East with one of these two scenarios:

  • They beat the Cardinals and the Cowboys lose to or tie the Lions
  • They tie the Cardinals and the Cowboys lose

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers can clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC, a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if this happens:

  • They beat the Commanders, the Lions lose to the Cowboys and the Eagles lose to the Cardinals

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks will clinch a wild card berth if the following happens:

  • They beat the Steelers and the Packers and Vikings tie

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs will clinch the NFC South and a playoff berth in either of these two scenarios:

  • They beat the Saints
  • They tie the Saints and the Falcons lose to the Bears
