He suffered a dislocated knee and fractured fibula, but blood vessels remain intact. He will likely undergo surgery next week and appreciates the many well wishes.
Kamara was tackled on a third down in the second quarter and fell out of bounds onto Piazza’s legs.
The FOX broadcast showed Piazza’s leg bent at an awkward angle before cutting away. Piazza immediately received medical attention and was later stretchered off the field wearing a leg cast and transported to a local hospital.
Piazza, a member of the NFL's chain-gang team, will undergo surgery next week.
"He appreciates the many well wishes and the continued care he continues to receive,” the Saints said in a statement.
