NFL Offensive Line Coach Joe D'alessandris Dies At 70

Joe D'Alessandris, a highly respected offensive line coach with nearly 50 years of coaching experience, has passed away at the age of 70. D'Alessandris, who had been coaching with the Baltimore Ravens since 2017, was hospitalized earlier this month due to an unspecified illness, which led him to step away from his duties as the team's offensive line coach.

Throughout his illustrious career, D'Alessandris made significant contributions to the NFL, having also coached with the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers before joining the Ravens under head coach John Harbaugh.

Described as a man of integrity and faith, D'Alessandris was known for his dedication to his players and his ability to inspire those around him. He was deeply loved and respected by his colleagues, players, and friends.

Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, in 1954, D'Alessandris began his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Western Carolina in 1977. He went on to coach at various colleges, including Livingston University, Memphis, Tennessee-Chattanooga, Samford, Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Duke, and Georgia Tech, before making his mark in the NFL.

Coach Harbaugh fondly remembered D'Alessandris as a man who made everyone he encountered feel valued and important. D'Alessandris' impact extended beyond the football field, as he was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
