NFL NY Giants vs Green Bay fans fury at ticket meltdown 'Just 166,000 in front of you'

NFL fans have been left furious as the website to get tickets for the hot NHF London game between the New York Giants and Green Bay packers went into meltdown. People going to the site were told there were more than 170,000 people ahead of them.

The frustration was added to because the ticketmaster site tells people visiting that once they finally get through they have 10 minutes to enter the website - and if they don't they lose their place. If people have been waiting for hours then there;'s a good change they might not notice that tab has changed.

The NY Giants will face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, October 9, in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Although fans were told tickets were on sale at 9.30am many joined at that time to discover thousands in front of them.

Fan Matt Dunkley-Roberts said: " @NFLUK you should be ashamed at how badly managed the ticket process has been for the NFL London games again this year. You say not to join the queue before 9:30 but there are 66000 already in front of me. Why not just open the site at half 9? Jesus"

Ciaran Kenny said: " @TicketmasterUK how am I in the queue for NFL London tickets 40 minutes before the queue was even supposed to start and the is 100k ahead of me?" Roy O'Brien Only 111,000 in front of me when I joined queue for NFL London games tickets."

Cappo added: "Why is the queue not getting shorter ? Sitting here since one hour and still 28k in front of me." Nick Jones said: "There are 3 things certain in life - Death, taxes, and the absolute shambles of trying to buy tickets for NFL games in London. #NFLUK

The NFL said prior to the launch today that there would be a virtual waiting room live on the Ticketmaster before the on-sale time meaning many seem to have got in very early. But in the email NFL added: "You can get in the queue from 9.30am. Please do not join before 9.30am as you may encounter issues when trying to purchase due to the length of time you have been on the site."

To minimise the risk of technical difficulties, the email also advised fans to set up a new account rather than trying to retrieve login details from a previous purchase if fans can't remember either their password or the reference number given with earlier bookings.
