Congratulations are in order for a couple of first-round picks from the 2024 NFL Draft who are off to great starts. The NFL revealed the league-wide rookies of the month for September, and the winners were each first-rounders.
On offense, No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels earned the honor. The Commanders quarterback was the offensive rookie of the week three times and is blazing into the record books with his efficiency in Washington.
Defensively, the honor goes to Jared Verse of the Rams. Verse, the No. 19 overall pick, bagged a sack in Week 1 and hasn’t looked back as a full-time player for Los Angeles. He’s among the leaders in pass-rush wins.
Both players earned the honors over several other worthy candidates. In most seasons, the start Giants WR Malik Nabers has would have handily won the honor. Verse’s Rams running mate, second-round DT Braden Fiske, is also off to an impressive start.
