Most NFL quarterbacks are always for adding offensive options to their roster, but Tom Brady has requested that MLB star Aaron Judge gets picked up by Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Judge is the most talked-about played in baseball at the moment, as the New York Yankees star has recently broken the home run record after hitting 62 in the regular season. However, despite being the Most Valuable Player in MLB, Judge is a free agent at the end of the season.
It's been a strange year for Brady, as he hasn't had his usual tight end to aim at after Rob Gronkowski decided to retire from the game at the end of last season. And in an attempt to fill the void, Brady has called on Judge to not only switch teams, but to switch sports entirely.
The Buccaneers are currently 3-2, although their two losses have come against heavyweights Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs. But it's still proving to be a tough season for Brady, who has seen his options limited downfield.
Brady is clearly on the hunt for new stars, whether that be for a gruelling post-season or beyond if he decides to continue playing. And in the latest episode of his "Let's Go!" podcast, Brady spoke to Judge, and offered the baseball star a change of scene,
"Obviously, having such an incredible year and, you know, now on the brink of [baseball] free agency, I was certainly wondering what it would take to get you down here in Tampa to be a tight end for us next year?" Brady aasked Judge. "So as a free agent, it looked pretty good to me the way he runs, the size, the catch radius, the power.
"I mean, this could be something that we could be on to. I know you were a great high school player. Obviously, baseball turned out pretty well for you but I don't know, maybe this dual-sport athlete is something we'll have to look into."
Although an offer to join the Buccaneers is not something that many would turn down, Judge joked that the pair could work something out. "We could get a nice little split contract," Judge replied.
"We can find a way to work this out, you just give me some looks in the red zone, then I can go off and hit some homers after that. We'll figure something out nice that's for sure. If Tom's tossing me touchdowns, I'll play for free. Sign me up to play for free, that's it."
One thing that's certain is that Judge definitely won't be playing for free, as he has a huge contract offer coming his way. Judge may be a free agent very soon, but after beating the record and proving to be one of the biggest hitters in the league, his value has sky rocketed.
Punters are already predicting his next contract to bring in £31million annually, and a potential £260m in total. At the age of just 30, Judge still has many years left in the MLB.
