NFL legend Tom Brady in attendance for Man Utd vs Tottenham at Old Trafford

NFL legend Tom Brady is in attendance at Old Trafford this evening as Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Saturday evening clash is set to be a big one, with both sides battling it out to keep their hopes of an all-important top four spot alive.

And one man who will be watching on is Brady, one month on from the seven-time Super Bowl champion’s retirement from American Football.

Brady was seen in the Old Trafford stands watching the Premier League action, and even tweeted of his attendance - before revealing who he was supporting.

The NFL icon said: Here we go! @Cristiano vs. @HKane. I might fist pump if you score Harry but I’m riding with @ManUtd today."

The 44-year-old announced himself as arguably the greatest quarter-back of all time during his 21-year playing career, which he spent the most part with the New England Patriots.

19 years and six Super Bowl titles later Brady shocked the sporting world, after parting ways with the Patriots and linking up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The switch turned out to be a success for both Brady and the Buccaneers, as they went on to win the Super Bowl title in the 2021 final, where the starring quarter-back collected an impressive fifth Super Bowl MVP crown.

Brady then played one more year with the Bucs, before announcing his retirement from the sport last month.

Ahead of his trip to Old Trafford the 44-year-old will no doubt be well connected to the club, with his former club the Buccaneers owned by the same owners of the Red Devils the Glazer Family.

During his emotional retirement statement Brady paid tribute to Glazers, thanking them for the support they offered to both himself and the rest of the Bucs team.

He said: “To the Glazer family, thank you for taking a chance on us and supporting me.

"I know I was demanding at times, but you provided everything we needed to win, and your ownership was everything a player could ask for."

As well as a link with United, Brady also has connections with their Saturday night opponents Tottenham, with the 44-year-old said to be good friends with Spurs and England captain Harry Kane.

“You’re the main reason I started following the sport and love the NFL. Thank you!”

To which the seven-time Super Bowl champion replied: “Thanks @harrykane, one of the many amazing young stars in the world."
