NFL legend Tom Brady cracks retirement joke during Super Bowl LVII

Tom Brady has cryptically tweeted ahead of the Super Bowl after retiring from the sport earlier this month.

In the last 20 years, it's become somewhat of a strange occurrence to not see Brady in a Super Bowl - appearing in 10 and winning seven since 2001 - etching his legacy as the greatest quarterback of all-time.

But we will now never see the legendary quarterback play in the Super Bowl in another game ever again, finally deciding to hang it up after 23 seasons. Brady sent a cheeky message stating that he does not want to do with himself, while watching and not playing in tonight's game.

He tweeted a GIF which said: "I don't know what to do with my hands", joking he didn't know what to do with himself considering he wasn't playing in the big game. He then followed that up with: "Two of the best tonight in Pat and Jalen. Good luck to KC and Philly, can’t wait to watch."

Tonight's game is being brought to screens across the world on FOX - who Brady is set to join in 2024 - as a commentator and an analyst after walking away from the sport.

Brady won seven championships in his career - six with the New England Patriots and one with the Buccaneers in 2021, when they won in Tampa Bay against the Chiefs.

Brady announced his retirement earlier this month - the second time he has done so after his February 2022 announcement, before coming back to the Buccaneers on a one-year deal.

The quarterback is now set to take a year away from football and will join FOX in 2024 to join their team.

The Super Bowl has got off to a quick start with both teams scoring on their opening drives, with Jalen Hurts capping off a solid opening drive for a rushing touchdown before Chiefs superstar Travis Kelce responded with a touchdown of his own.
