NFL legend ready to come out of retirement to play with Aaron Rodgers for New York Jets

Former NFL star has Brandon Marshall admitted he would come out of retirement to play for the New York Jets - and would do so at a new position.

The former All-Pro wide receiver has not played in the league since 2018 after playing six games with the Seattle Seahawks. He has since become a prominent media member and hosting the 'I Am Athlete' podcast.

When playing with the Seahawks in his final season, Marshall had certainly lost much of his speed and ability to beat NFL cornerbacks. However, he believes he still could be a solid receiving option if he moved to tight end.

A naturally bigger wide receiver, it's not uncommon for players of his body type to move to tight end - acting as an in-line receiver, similarly to Kansas City Chiefs ' Travis Kelce.

Marshall was asked the question with his former Jets team looking primed to make a playoff run this season with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, after completing his trade from the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers is expected to be the best quarterback that the Jets have had in a generation, whilst they also have one of the strongest rosters in the league. Marshall is seemingly excited about the Jets this year, and admitted that would entice him out of retirement - even promising that he'd be capable of some solid numbers.

He said: "Yes, I would love to play with Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. I am already ready.

"Here is why I would be ready to come back as a New York Jet at tight end... We're going to win a Super Bowl and I can contribute at a high level.

"I can give them 45 catches, 20-30 snaps a game and eight touchdowns."

Marshall did admit he's not sure how he would fare physically after five years out of the sport, and in reality a comeback is not going to be on the cards.

Marshall played some of his best play with the Jets, scoring 17 touchdowns and registering 2,300 yards with the team in two seasons.

But at 39 years old, it's unlikely the Jets would even consider bringing Marshall back - especially with four solid rotation players at the position already, including exciting rookie Zack Kuntz.
