Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andre Cisco is set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. So what might the future hold for him and the Jaguars?
ESPN recently previewed the offseason for each of the NFL’s non-playoff teams. Among a variety of topics, NFL insider Jeremy Fowler shared his insights into Cisco and whether the Jaguars will re-sign him.
Although there is nothing concrete at this time in regards to what Cisco’s future might look like, Fowler does think that because of his potential free agent market, Cisco could be playing elsewhere in 2025.
“His free agency market could be hard for Jacksonville to match due to his ball production,” wrote Fowler. “The Jaguars spent $300-plus million on players last year and might opt to reduce spending in March.”
Cisco was a third-round pick by the Jaguars out of Syracuse in 2021. Ball production has been Cisco’s calling card on the back end of the Jacksonville defense, generating eight interceptions and 11 pass breakups over the last three seasons. Opposing quarterbacks have a passer rating of 92.0 when targeting Cisco over the last four seasons.
Spotrac is currently projecting that Cisco lands a four-year $59.1 million contract, with an average annual value of $14.8 million per season.
Safety is going to be a big need for the Jaguars this offseason with currently Darnell Savage, Andrew Wingard, Daniel Thomas, and Antonio Johnson the only players under contract for the 2025 season.
As a secondary, the Jaguars allowed a league-worst 7.5 yards per pass attempt in 2024, showcasing the efficiency and big play ability opposing quarterbacks had against this unit.
