Monday’s free-agent frenzy swept up a fan favorite in Frankie Luvu, who is expected to sign with the Washington Commanders on a three-year, $36 million deal. But while the loss would be a pretty hurtful one for the Carolina Panthers, there may be an awfully solid contingency plan in place.
During his spot on The Pat McAfee Show this afternoon, Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz mentioned the Panthers as one of two potential suitors for another free-agent backer in Patrick Queen. Here’s the snippet:

Queen is one of the top defenders out on the open market. The former first-round pick put forth a career season in 2023—as he earned second-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections for his 133-tackle campaign.
As Schultz notes, the Seattle Seahawks look to be in on the standout 24-year-old. The fact that they’ve hired his defensive coordinator from the Baltimore Ravens, Mike Macdonald, as their new head coach also might make them the favorites for his services.
But the Panthers, who are out to find some dawgs this offseason, seem to be lurking.
