Back in October, ahead of the team’s Week 8 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants co-owner John Mara provided a vote of confidence for general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll.
Mara told reporters that he does not plan to make any in-season changes and did not anticipate firing anyone after its conclusion.

Since then, the Giants have lost three straight games, including a humiliating 20-17 overtime loss to the lowly Carolina Panthers in Munich, Germany this past Sunday.
As a result of their current five-game skid, the Giants are currently slated to select second overall in the 2025 NFL draft. That’s a precarious position to be in from a regime standpoint, says NFL insider Adam Schefter.
“I don’t know that anybody can say that anybody is safe in New York,” Schefter said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. “I don’t know that anybody can say that anybody is safe when you’re on track to have the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.”
Schefter points out that Mara provided a similar vote of confidence for Ben McAdoo in 2017 before firing him, and then again with Joe Judge in 2021 before firing him.
Ultimately, all options are likely to be on the table if the team’s ugly season continues.
“I think they’re going to be looking at everything (this offseason) and I think anything is possible,” Schefter said.
