The Pittsburgh Steelers put on a defensive show versus the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, starring defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick.
For that performance, the NFL honored Fitzpatrick with AFC Defensive Player of the Week. It’s the first time in his career that he’s been given that distinction.
Surprisingly enough, this is the first time Fitzpatrick has won the honor. 🤔 https://t.co/pr6mUxLerL

Fitzpatrick’s highlight reel included a career-high 14 tackles, a 31-yard pick-six (the fourth of his career), and a blocked PAT that sent the game into overtime. He also impacted the game in ways you can’t see from reading the stat line.
“I came in wanting to make a statement,” Fitzpatrick said. “I felt like last year, it wasn’t a normal year for me.”
Fitzpatrick made a statement, indeed.
