George Pickens just gave us the catch of the NFL season thus far.
During the final moments of the opening quarter of Thursday Night Football, Pickens went full acrobat with this stunning one-handed snag of a Mitch Trubisky deep ball. On second and three near midfield, Trubisky rolled out of the pocket and spied Pickens downfield in a one-on-one matchup.
What followed was probably one of the most athletic plays in football you’ll ever see. As Pickens was diving forward for the ball, the wide receiver was able to grab the ball with one hand, nearly bending himself in half to secure the catch.

It’s gorgeous from any angle you watch it from. Seriously, what a catch from Pickens here. The 36-yard snag helped the Steelers eventually tie up the game 7-7 on the drive too. Given the hype around Pickens so far this year, it’s clear the rookie is already becoming a fan favorite.
NFL fans could not believe their eyes when Pickens pulled out all the stops for the best catch of the young football season.
Between the Johnson week one snag and the Pickens one just now, Steelers WRs have had the two coolest catches of the NFL season. Such a talented group.

I guess George Pickens is right. Open 99% of the time.

The funniest part of that George Pickens catch is that Trubisky ignored a WIDE OPEN option of the middle that would've gained at least as much.
