What a difference a year makes. Just ask the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Last season they had to live through the nightmare of having Urban Meyer as their head coach. That bad time only lasted 13 games (the Jaguars were 2-11 at the time), however, because Meyer was so bad at his job that he couldn’t even make it through a full year in the NFL.
Seriously, he was arguably the worst coach in NFL history.
Now the Jaguars have a real head coach in Doug Pederson and after last night’s thrilling win at home over the Titans they are AFC South champions for the first time since 2017 and will be hosting a playoff game next week.
Amazing what a team can do once it rids itself of the stink of Urban Meyer.
Jaguars wide receiver Marvin Jones probably agrees with that because after the win over the Titans he said this:
Marvin Jones on the notion the #Jaguars were broken after last year with Urban Meyer.
"I think one person was broken. It wasn't us," he said.

NFL fans crushed Meyer after the Jaguars’ win.
Urban Meyer is somewhere so impressed by the win he's looking up the name of the Jags quarterback.

Seems impossible but the Urban Meyer season in Jacksonville somehow manages to look even worse

Utah conference title
Florida national title
Ohio State division title
Jags division titleIf you hire Urban Meyer, you'll win a championship the following season. History is undeniable

It’s so much easier rooting for Trevor Lawrence when he isn’t playing for Dabo Swinney or Urban Meyer.

Hindsight is always 20/20. And for sure Jacksonville added key pieces this off-season. But still. This just underscores Urban Meyer last season was the worst coaching job in the history of the NFL, right?

A year ago fans were dressing as clowns in Duval. Now they are division champs.
Urban Meyer is the worst coach in NFL history.

Really happy for Jacksonville. Firing Urban Meyer and then making the playoffs the very next year to show how much he sucks is just good for humanity.

Doug Pederson has the Jaguars in the playoffs in Year 1.
If this were Year 2 of Urban Meyer they'd be 4-13 and Meyer would be telling all of us in the media that we just don't understand how rebuilding a team the right way takes time.— Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) January 8, 2023
I think we can officially move Urban Meyer being the worst NFL head coach of all time ahead of Joe DiMaggio’s hitting streak on the list of sports records that won’t be broken.

The best part about the Jags winning their division is that it’s further proof that Urban Meyer is awful on so many levels

Urban Meyer committed football malpractice while he was there https://t.co/DpFSRd7Lhm

Never let anyone suggest Urban Meyer is a good football coach ever again https://t.co/CDnpoWux9M

During his entire football career, high school to the NFL, Urban Meyer was the only coach that kept Trevor Lawrence out of the playoffs.
