It’s April. Football is still a long ways away and, sure, we have the USFL to bet on, but nothing compares to the one true king of North American sports. So while we wait for the preseason to pick back up, let’s turn our attention to the NFL Draft to make some money.
Over at Tipico Sportsbook, the betting total for quarterbacks selected in the first round sits at 2.5. That’s not a terrible number to begin with, but the odds associated with it are even more enticing. The over is -250 while the under is a crisp +180.
That plus money is where we’re leaning. While For The Win‘s consensus mock draft 3.0 has three quarterbacks selected in the first 32 picks, Cincinnati prospect Desmond Ridder is slated in at pick No. 27—which is owned by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Depending on how the draft board shakes out that late into the round, the Super Bowl contender may not be as worried about finding Tom Brady’s replacement as finding someone who can help him win another ring.
