Philadelphia Eagles chief security officer Dom DiSandro’s appeal of his ban from the sidelines and $100,000 fine was denied by the NFL on Friday, according to Rob Maaddi of The Associated Press.
Luckily for DiSandro, the Eagles covered the $100,000 fine, as is custom for teams to do so for their staffers.
DiSandro famously was involved in a scuffle with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw during the Eagles’ 42–19 loss on Dec. 3. Greenlaw was assessed an unnecessary roughness penalty and faced a $10,927 fine.
The 45-year-old DiSandro, who has worked for the Eagles since 1999, won’t be on the sideline for the rest of the regular season. He can return for the playoffs, however.
The Eagles (10–4) are currently on a three-game skid but already have locked up a playoff berth. DiSandro can make his triumphant return to the sideline for that first playoff contest.
