Future first-ballot Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady went viral earlier this week for running a faster 40-yard-dash time at age 46 than he did at the NFL combine when he was 22.
There is no question that Brady’s conditioning and commitment toward improving his body improved drastically from the time he entered the league to when he retired as a seven-time Super Bowl champion after the 2022 NFL season.
Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, who was Brady’s backup quarterback in New England for two seasons, is skeptical that his buddy Brady actually ran a faster 40-yard-dash earlier this week.
“Is it legit?” O’Connell asked Rich Eisen and Daniel Jeremiah on Saturday’s NFL combine coverage on NFL Network. “You can do a lot of things. I’ve seen what you guys can do with technology around here.”
Once O’Connell was done ribbing Brady, he admitted that nothing would surprise him with his former teammate.
“I would not put it past him one bit. I mean, wearing sneakers, turf field, beating his time. Put a pair of cleats on him and he probably breaks the fives.”
.@TomBrady, we're gonna need a response to Kevin O'Connell's questions about your new 40 time. 😂🧐

With Brady’s penchant of responding to good ole’ fashioned shots on social media, it’s doubtful this is the last we’ll hear of this playful feud between two good friends.
