The NFL has assigned referee Alan Eck and his crew to officiate in the Week 11 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Denver Broncos.
Over nine games in 2024, Eck has thrown 108 flags for a total of 924 yards. He averages 12 penalties per game for an average of 102.67 yards per contest.
That’s not terribly far off from the league average in either category, which sits at 12.77 combined penalties per game for an average of 102.87 yards. Of those flags thrown, just under 49 percent of those have been called on the visiting team.
The last time the Falcons played with Eck calling the shots was during their 29-10 win over the visiting Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 24, 2023. There were four penalties called on each team in that game for a total of 29 yards on the Colts and a total of 35 yards on the Falcons.
The Broncos saw Eck and company far more recently in their Week 3 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Five penalties were called on the Broncos for 51 yards in that one, with the same number of penalties for 19 yards called on the Bucs.
Atlanta holds a 1-0 record with Eck as a referee with the Broncos faring with the same record.
It will be interesting to see how things shake out this time around with Atlanta and Denver set to kick off at 4:05 p.m. ET in Mile High Stadium.
