The New York Jets didn’t make the playoffs. They have to settle for a clean sweep in the AP Rookie of the Year honors.
After WR Garrett Wilson was named the NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday at NFL Honors, DB Sauce Gardner was announced as the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Gardner had two interceptions and 75 combined tackles. He was the definition of a shutdown corner in his rookie season out of Cincinnati.
Gardner was the fourth pick in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.
