NFL Announce Eagles-Seahawks is First ‘Monday Night Football’ Flexed Game

The NFL is moving the Eagles at Seahawks game during Week 15 to Monday Dec. 18, making it the first game to be flexed into Monday Night Football in the league’s history. The game, which was previously scheduled for Sunday afternoon, will replace Chiefs at Patriots, which will now be played on Sunday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.

This is the first year the NFL approved flexing games into Monday night late in the season, allowing for games to move days depending on the competition level. With the Patriots sitting at just two wins, and both Seattle and Philadelphia in the playoff race, the NFL decided Eagles-Seahawks is the better option for primetime.

The Eagles will travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks on Monday, Dec. 18.

This will be the Eagles’ third Monday Night Football game this season, having won each of their first two, while the Seahawks will play in their second after beating the Giants on Monday night in Week 4.

Additionally, the league officially announced its Saturday schedule for Dec. 16, with Vikings-Bengals playing at 1 p.m. ET, Steelers-Colts starting at 4:30 p.m. ET and Broncos-Lions ending the day at 8:30 p.m. ET. All three games will be broadcasted on NFL Network.
