There’s no doubt Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens is talented. He hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential after one season and there is hope he can ascend this season to true No. 1 wide receiver status. But is he better than Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who most regard as the best receiver in the league right now?
According to NFL analyst and coincidentally former Steelers Ryan Clark, the answer is yes. Clark has never been shy about dropping hot takes and not just about his old team. So this should come as no surprise to anyone that Clark is willing to put himself out there like this.
Pickens displayed truly elite potential in 2022. Despite only hauling in 52 passes, his impressive 15.4 yards per reception helped him to 801 receiving yards. This was also as a rookie with a rookie quarterback. I love to think if a few things fall right for the development of quarterback Kenny Pickett, Pickens will have a breakout season in 2023.
