The Seattle Seahawks’ division rival in the Valley of the Sun is dealing with quarterback health questions as well. Kyler Murray tore his ACL during a Week 14 showdown against the New England Patriots. Having a significant injury like that so late in the year was always bound to affect playing status for 2023, and right now it appears this is the case.
When asked in an interview on the team’s website, Murray gave a rather abstract answer in regards to his return timeline.
“I wouldn’t want to go out there and hurt the team or hurt myself,” Murray said. “The advice I’ve gotten from a lot of people around me is, obviously, to go when you are ready. Don’t feel pressured to come back because of this situation or that situation. I feel when that time comes, I’ll know.”
In 2021 the Arizona Cardinals started the season 10-2 and eventually qualified for the playoffs. Now they are the consensus pick to be the worst team in football. As I’ve said multiple times, life comes at you fast in the NFL.
Whatever you may or may not think about Murray as a quarterback, there is no denying the Cardinals offense is more dynamic with him under center. Should Murray miss significant time in 2023, it will go a long way to solidifying the “worst in the league” predictions for Arizona.
