Neymar urged to make shock Arsenal transfer over Chelsea and Newcastle amid PSG exit talk

Former Arsenal icon Gilberto Silva has urged PSG star Neymar to snub other transfer offers in hopes to sign for Arsenal in the upcoming summer window. The Brazilian has been rumoured with a potential exit from the French capital, with the likes of Newcastle and Chelsea linked, while discontent is swirling at his club.

It comes ahead of a huge summer for the Gunners themselves, who have a task on their hands to try and close the gap to Manchester City when it comes to the quality and depth of their squad. They've already managed just that this season, but Mikel Arteta has admitted to another huge window ahead.

"They are always tough decisions, whether it's to recruit, or other decisions," Mikel Arteta told Sky Sports on the decisions he has to make. "Some players sometimes don't want to continue with us, some staff members. It's always tough, especially when you have good relationships with those individuals, but we are here to win. That's the purpose of everybody at the club."

While the emphasis has often been on signing young players with high potential, the recent signing of Jorginho has shown that Arsenal aren't against going down the experienced route. Whether they'd go for Neymar, though, remains to be seen, but Silva wants to see that happen.

He told casinosite.nl: "The last few weeks at PSG have been very strange for Neymar. Seeing people go to his house; I don’t agree with this, fans are not allowed to go to a player’s house to protest. This can turn into a nightmare because it is dangerous and it is not nice. I hope it does not happen again with him or any other player.

"Everyone knows the quality of Neymar, I don’t need to speak about his quality. I love the way he plays and I would love to see him at Arsenal instead of Newcastle because I love the boy as a player, but he also has a lot to contribute to football. He’s suffered some injury problems which have made life hard for him, but he has so much more to offer any football club.

"How would he fit in? Well, this would be a great task for Mikel! We have to wait and see, I don’t want to talk about a player who is still contracted to PSG."
