A gang of armed robbers broke into the family home of Neymar’s fiancée and tied up her parents before making off with luxury purses, watches and jewellery.Bruna Biancardi, who recently had a baby with the Brazilian footballer, said that the home in Sao Paulo was targeted in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
News outlet R7 reported that a trio of robbers had insistently asked after the whereabouts of Biancardi and her baby girl.
The influencer said on Instagram that she and her daughter had no longer been living at the house.
Online news outlet G1 reported that Biancardi’s parents were bound and gagged, and that the assailants made off with the luxury items.
“Material things are recovered, the important thing is that everyone is OK and that the people involved are being found,” Biancardi wrote.
One of the three armed robbers, a neighbour of Biancardi’s parents, has been apprehended, according to reports in Brazil.
A statement by the Sao Paulo Department of Public Security said: “According to reports, three armed men allegedly entered the residence and overpowered the 50-year-old and 52-year-old victims.
“The suspects stole purses, watches, and jewellery. A 20-year-old man was arrested in the act. The second perpetrator has already been identified and efforts are underway to identify the third, as well as arrest them.”
Neymar, who is Brazil's all time top scorer, wrote on Instagram: "Sad day, with two bad pieces of news. First was the attack that Bru's parents suffered, but thank god they are ok." He said a friend had also died.
