Neymar was unable to help Brazil win the World Cup in Qatar as they suffered a shock defeat on penalties against Croatia. The Selecao were one of the favourites to win the tournament but joined the Netherlands, Portugal and England in being knocked out in the quarter-finals.
The final four nations have now been confirmed with Croatia taking on Argentina, whilst Morocco will face France. Neymar had missed Brazil's final two Group G fixtures through injury after suffering a sprained ankle in their opening World Cup fixture against Serbia.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar returned to face South Korea and help Tite's squad progress into the last eight before they were beaten on penalties. Neymar thought he had won the clash against Croatia for his nation with his 106th minute goal before Bruno Petkovic scored a surprise equaliser in the 117th minute.

Neymar's conversation with Thiago Silva
Thiago Silva: “*crying emojis*.”
Neymar: “*tear emoji*. We’re gonna have to keep going bro, sadly that’s how it is! I wanted a lot to give you this cup. You, me and Dani deserved a lot… But God has our purpose and he knows everything *heart emoji*.”
Thiago Silva: “Brother, it’s harder than what I thought originally… I’m not holding up. I can’t believe we lost! I can’t believe. Every hour that I remind myself makes me wanna cry a lot… *crying emoji*. F***….But I will be okay.. *praying emoji* *fist bump emoji*.”
Neymar: “Every time I look at the TV I get angry. What a sad moment f***.”
The 30-year-old winger offered his support to both Marquinhos and Rodrygo after they both missed their penalty kicks. Neymar was likely to be the fifth penalty taker for Brazil, but he was denied the opportunity to take a spot kick after two of his teammates failed to score.
